HANCOCK CHAMBER CELEBRATES NATIONAL SMALL BUSINESS WEEK, MAY 4-10, AMID CENTENNIAL YEAR
The Hancock Chamber of Commerce proudly joins the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in celebrating National Small Business Week from May 4–10, 2025. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the SBA’s service to America’s small businesses. This celebration coincides with the Chamber’s 100th anniversary. Established in 1925 as the Bay St. Louis Chamber of Commerce by the Rotary Club, the organization officially became the Hancock Chamber in 1945.
As part of these celebrations, the Hancock Chamber invites you to “Get on the Chamber Train” at its annual Midyear Meeting on Thursday, May 15th at Hollywood Casino – Gulf Coast. The event opens at 11am with a jazz brunch with live music by Holly’s Dad’s Jazz Band, celebrating the positive developments and achievements in Hancock County. Keynote presentations will include the State of the County Address by Scotty Adam, President of the Hancock County Board of Supervisors, the State of the Port & Harbor by CEO Blaine LaFontaine, an Update on Amtrak Service by Southern Rail Commissioner Kay Kell, Updates from the Hancock Chamber and Hancock County Community Foundation, Updates from the Gulf Coast Business Council, and presentation of awards for Ambassador and Young Professional of the Year, and the Jody Compretta Person of Passion.The Midyear Meeting provides a unique opportunity to learn about the Hancock Chamber of Commerce, the largest and oldest business organization in Hancock County.
Small businesses are the backbone of Hancock County’s economy, contributing significantly to job creation and community development. The Chamber encourages residents to support local enterprises, especially Chamber members, through various initiatives:
