Time is running out to apply for three of the Hancock Chamber’s signature programs designed to
strengthen businesses, develop community leaders and invest in the future of Hancock County.
Applications for the Catalyst Small Business Grant Program, Leadership Hancock and the Hancock Young
Professionals (HYP) 20 Under 40 Program all close Friday, July 31.
Whether you’re a small business owner looking to grow, an established professional ready to expand
your leadership skills or an emerging leader eager to make an impact, the Chamber has an opportunity
designed for you.
The Catalyst Small Business Grant Program offers competitive micro-grants of $1,000 to $1,500 to help
Chamber member small businesses invest in revenue-generating equipment, digital marketing,
workforce expansion and façade improvements. The program, made possible through the Mississippi
Power Foundation in partnership with the Hancock Chamber and the Hancock County Community
Development Foundation, is expected to benefit up to 35 local businesses this year.
For professionals looking to grow as leaders, Leadership Hancock has been preparing community leaders
since 1996, with more than 500 graduates. The year-long program provides participants with an inside
look at the organizations, industries, and issues shaping Hancock County while building meaningful
relationships with fellow leaders from across the community. The program is open to individuals who
live or work in Hancock County.
The Chamber is also accepting applications for the Hancock Young Professionals (HYP) 20 Under 40
Program, a premier leadership experience that recognizes and develops the county’s next generation of
leaders. Only 20 emerging professionals will be selected to participate in the year-long program, which
focuses on leadership development, networking, professional growth and community engagement.
“We know that applying for a grant or leadership program can feel overwhelming if you’ve never done it
before,” said Hancock Chamber Executive Director Tish Williams. “That’s why we’re happy to meet one
on-one with anyone who has questions. We want to help people understand the opportunities available
and determine which program is the best fit for them.”
