Hancock Chamber 101: Making the Most of Your Chamber Membership
The Hancock Chamber recently welcomed members for Hancock Chamber 101: Making the Most of Your Chamber Membership, an opportunity to connect with Chamber staff, Ambassadors and fellow members while learning how to take full advantage of the resources, programs and opportunities available through membership.
The event focused on a simple message: Chamber membership works best when members get involved. With approximately 150 meetings and events each year, members have numerous opportunities to make connections through ribbon cuttings, Power Hour meetings, committee involvement, signature events and other Chamber and community gatherings.
Members also learned about the many ways the Chamber can help increase their visibility. Opportunities include the online membership directory at HancockChamber.org, the Official Hancock Chamber Guide to Hancock County, Member Spotlights and interviews, ribbon cuttings, business announcements, social media promotion, Chamber referrals and use of the Chamber logo.
Another important resource is the Chamber’s INFO Hub, where members can keep their business information and contacts current, add website and social media links, update their business description, manage membership information and make payments online. Keeping this information updated helps the Chamber better promote and connect members with potential customers and opportunities.
Chamber 101 also highlighted opportunities to become more involved through Leadership Hancock County, the Leadership Hancock Alumni Association, Hancock Young Professionals, Chamber Ambassadors, the Education and Beautification committees, the Hancock County Community Development Foundation, Partners for Stennis & Michoud and other Chamber initiatives.
