Why Join the Hancock Chamber in 2026? Local Businesses Share the Impact
What does it take for a local business to stay visible, connected, and competitive in today’s economy? For many Hancock County businesses, the answer is active involvement with the Hancock Chamber of Commerce.
Fresh off the celebration of its 100th anniversary, the Hancock Chamber is entering 2026 with renewed momentum and expanded initiatives designed to directly support member businesses across the county.
This year alone, the Chamber secured more than $50,000 in grant funding to support marketing and promotional efforts that spotlight local businesses throughout the year. Those funds will be used to drive awareness, attract visitors, and encourage residents and newcomers alike to shop local.
Another major initiative underway is the launch of a newly expanded Guide to Visiting & Living in Hancock County, which replaces and enhances the former Play on the Bay publication. The guide will feature Chamber member businesses and be distributed year-round, including during major events such as the Annual Parade of Homes, helping connect new residents and visitors with local services.
Visibility remains one of the most tangible benefits of Chamber membership. Through its websites, online business directory, and social media platforms, the Chamber reaches more than 40,000 people annually, sharing member stories, services, and events with audiences well beyond Hancock County.
Chamber leaders also point to connection and access as key benefits. With more than 150 events and programs planned for 2026 — including Business After Hours, Power Hour Lunch Breaks, and industry-focused gatherings — members have frequent opportunities to build relationships, generate referrals, and stay informed.
Local businesses say the impact of membership is real and measurable.
“Being part of the Chamber keeps our business connected to the community,” said Dave Mayley of Mayley Pest Control. “It helps us stay visible and engaged with the people we serve.”
Tracy Borja of MeMe’s Restaurant echoed that sentiment. “The Chamber helps bring customers through the door,” Borja said. “It creates opportunities for businesses to be seen and supported.”
In addition to marketing and networking, the Chamber continues to strengthen its role as a business resource hub, offering technical assistance and support programs aimed at helping members improve operations, sharpen marketing strategies, and grow profitability.
As the Hancock Chamber looks ahead to its next century of service, leaders say the focus remains clear: helping businesses succeed while strengthening the overall economic health of Hancock County.
