By: Nikki Moon, Chair, Hancock Chamber Member Services Committee

As Chair of the Hancock Chamber Member Services Committee, I warmly invite all businesses, non profits, government entities, and individuals to explore how Chamber membership can open doors for growth, connection, and community impact. One of the top reasons to join the Hancock Chamber is to build strong business relationships. These connections often evolve into a trusted network you can rely on—for support, feedback, collaboration, and new opportunities. I’ve experienced this firsthand, and it’s one of the most valuable benefits the Chamber offers. Chamber membership also enhances your business’s credibility. In fact, research shows that 63% of consumers view Chamber-affiliated businesses more favorably. This increased trust can lead to higher profits, better brand recognition, and a more established presence in the community, making your dues well worth the investment.
Another key advantage is visibility. As the Hancock Chamber grows, so does the opportunity for your business to stand out. We host regular networking events—like after-hours socials, ribbon cuttings, and our Power Hour meetings—designed to help you connect with fellow professionals and increase your exposure. Upcoming events include:

Members also benefit from ongoing marketing opportunities, such as features in weekly eblasts, dedicated emails, and promotions across our websites and social media channels. Beyond networking and marketing, the Chamber connects members with resources to support business success. Over the past few years, we’ve helped secure $80,000 in grant funding for members. Thanks to partnerships with the City of Bay St. Louis and others, facilities at the Chamber and Business Resource Center are available for meetings and training sessions.

Professional development is another pillar of our mission. We recently hosted a workshop on using TikTok for business with support from the Silver Slipper Casino Hotel. More sessions like this are planned to help you and your team stay ahead of the curve. Now is a great time to get involved. Through June 23, we’re accepting nominations for:

Award recipients will be honored at the Annual Awards Gala on Thursday, August 28 at Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the Chamber’s founding by the Bay St. Louis Rotary Club. Remember, Chamber membership extends to your entire team. It’s a great way to boost morale and provide professional development. Employees under 45 can join Hancock Young Professionals (HYP), chaired by Jordan Bradford. We just held a family cook-out event this week with the next meeting set for July 8 for after-hours networking. You can also apply for Leadership Hancock, chaired by Janell Nolan of Coast Electric. Since 1996, more than 500 graduates are serving as influential leaders throughout the county. Applications are open now through July 31.

Once you’re a member, make the most of it. Attend events, build relationships, volunteer for committees, or sponsor one of our signature gatherings such as Chamber Power Hours, Bud & Burgers, Port-Air-Space Day, Parade of Homes, or the Swing for the Cause Golf Tournament.

Most importantly, everyone is welcome at the Hancock Chamber. We’d love to have you join us. To learn more or become a member, visit www.hancockchamber.org, call Janice Jones at 228-467-9048, or email janice@hancockchamber.org.
